The Bexar County Church Network (BCCN), operated by Avista Products in San Antonio, Texas, publishes a directory, community calendar, flyer board and media platform for African American churches, nonprofit organizations, event planners and neighbors across Bexar County. This policy explains in plain language what information we collect, how we use it, what becomes public, and the choices you have.
1.Information we collect
Depending on how you use the network, BCCN may collect:
- Names, email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing addresses and account information
- Church, ministry, nonprofit, pastor, leadership and organization information
- Service times, event details, anniversary and milestone dates, ministry descriptions, photographs, flyers, videos, social media links and YouTube channel information
- Information submitted for church or nonprofit verification
- Tax identification information when it is required to verify an organization
- Membership level, billing status, transaction records and referral information
- Website usage, device, browser, cookie and analytics information
- Messages, submissions and support requests you send to BCCN
Account passwords are created and stored securely through the website's authentication provider. BCCN staff cannot read your password, and passwords are never displayed publicly.
2.How information is used
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage member accounts
- Verify churches and nonprofit organizations
- Publish approved church profiles, events, announcements, flyers and livestream information
- Process memberships and maintain billing records
- Provide customer support and answer questions
- Prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorized activity
- Improve website performance, reliability and services
- Send administrative, membership and service-related messages
- Send newsletters or promotional messages when you have asked to receive them
3.Information you submit for publication
Much of what members send us is meant to be seen. Information you submit for a church profile, event, announcement, flyer, pastor or leadership profile, or ministry listing may be displayed publicly on this website, and may also appear in BCCN email, social media and print materials, after administrative review and approval.
Please do not submit confidential, private, copyrighted or personal information that you do not have permission to publish. Get permission before submitting photographs of members, minors, staff or guests, and before submitting logos, artwork, music or video you did not create.
4.Payments
Membership payments are processed through Square. BCCN does not directly store complete credit or debit card numbers. We keep records such as the plan purchased, billing cycle, amount, status and transaction reference so we can support your account.
Payment processing is also subject to Square's own privacy and security policies.
5.Third party services
The website may use or display content and tools from:
- Square (payments and subscriptions)
- YouTube (church channels, videos and livestreams)
- Facebook (page feeds shown on church profiles)
- Google authentication (optional sign-in)
- Website hosting and database providers
- Analytics and email delivery providers
These services may collect information according to their own privacy policies, which BCCN does not control.
7.Information sharing
BCCN does not sell personal information.
Information may be shared with service providers who help us operate the network (such as hosting, payment, email and analytics providers), when required by law or valid legal process, when needed to protect the rights, safety or property of the network and its users, or when you give us permission.
8.Data security and retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold, including restricted administrative access and secure authentication. No online system can guarantee complete security, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Information is generally kept while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and operational purposes. Published listings and events may remain in archives after a membership ends unless removal is requested.
9.Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, delete or remove your personal information. We honor these requests except where records must be kept for legal, tax, accounting or fraud-prevention reasons.
You may unsubscribe from newsletters and promotional email at any time using the link in those messages or by contacting us. You will still receive essential account, verification and billing notices while your account is open.
10.Children's privacy
This website is not directed toward children under 13. Children should not create accounts or submit personal information without a parent, guardian, or church leader acting on their behalf.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
11.Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the network grows or as laws change. When we make a material change, we revise the effective date shown at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify members by email or an on-site notice.
